Eligibility

This exhibition is open to all artists of Kentucky. Each artist may submit a total of two works for consideration by the juror in any medium. All entries must be original works completed within the last two years and must be suitable for display. All amateur artists with less than two years of experience are also encouraged to submit art for the amateur competition. Amateurs must be at least 16 years of age.

Specifications

All two-dimensional works must be framed and wired for hanging and must not exceed 60 inches in any dimension (not including frame). Works on paper should be under glass or Plexiglas.

Delivery/Return of Works

All works must be hand-delivered to Kentucky Museum (1400 Kentucky Street) on Monday, August 6th and Tuesday, August 7th between 4 pm and 6 pm. Works will not be accepted without an entry form and fee. Entries winning awards will be notified by phone prior to August 10. Awards and checks will be presented Friday, August 10th at 6:00 pm. All entries will be on display throughout the exhibition. Works will not be released to their parties without artists’ written permission. Art can be picked up on Saturday, August 25th from 9 am – 12 pm. Any artwork not picked up on August 25th without prior arrangements will be donated to local charities.

Liability

Precaution will be taken in handling all works. The Bowling Green Junior Woman’s Club and the Kentucky Museum does not assume liability for loss or damage to works and will not be responsible for works unclaimed.

Entry Forms, Artwork Label and Fees

Complete the attached Entry Form along with one Artwork Label for each entry. A non-refundable entry fee is required for each submission. Entry fees are 1 piece for $10 or 2 pieces for $15

Silent Auction Sales

If chosen for the exhibit and you give permission for your work to be auctioned silently, the Bowling Green Junior Woman’s Club will retain a 30% commission from the sale to benefit various local charitable organizations.
